Hot Weather Procedure

Hot Weather Procedure

1.       When extremely hot weather is predicted, the Principal will decide if a Hot Weather day is to be called and inform office admin staff.  Office admin will inform all staff of the decision procedure by placing notice onto Daily Notices EdStudio ( for staff notices), or by broadcasting a message to all classrooms on the day.

2.       Decisions will be made on a day to day basis.

3.       The plan for the day will be as follows:

  1. Any sport (outdoor play/games, gala practice or year level sport) needs to be first thing after the roll at 9:00am, students to take water bottles and hats with them.

  2. Swimming is an exception – lessons may occur as normal, but monitor students comfort levels throughout

  3. Both Ovals will be closed for both breaks - students can go to clubs, Maynard's Den, Hall for a movie (year 6 teachers to co-ordinate movie), library (Mon- Thurs), computer lab (Friday) , buildings and Prep playgrounds.

  4.  Staff on Oval Playground duties to supervise inside the hall and computer lab (if open).
  5.  Students should keep drink bottles with them and be remaindered to take a drink.
  6.  Buildings are to run A/C units at 24 degrees.
