Friday, 25 October is the annual ‘Day for Daniel.’   Mayfield State School will be recognising this very important event on Monday, 28 October.  In December, 2003, 13 year old Daniel Morcombe was abducted from a bus stop on the Sunshine Coast.  He was never seen alive again.  ‘Day for Daniel’ has been held yearly since then and is aimed at raising awareness about personal safety and assisting young victims of crime.

Students, staff and parents are all encouraged to wear a red shirt on this day in support of ‘Day for Daniel.’  Students are also asked to bring a gold coin donation.  All money raised will go to the ‘Daniel Morcombe Foundation’ so that they may continue their great work.  A special presentation by 3E will be held on assembly on Monday at 2:20pm. We will also have a member of the police force there to talk to the students about personal safety.   Everyone is welcome.
