Recent Changes to our schools ICT infrastructure.
In the last couple of weeks Mayfield has ade some significant advances in our technology services and school infrastructure. The most noticeable change for staff and students will be the internet bandwidth upgrade, from which we have moved from ADSL to a GBip Fibre Service. With this new fibre service speeds achievable are much higher than they were previously reaching up to 100Mbps or approximately five times faster than ADSL.
This will have a significant impact on classroom computer learning providing consistent and reliable fast access to online learning environments.
The second change to our schools ICT infrastructure is the recent upgrade
and replacement of our school server. The new server has provided the school with the latest in what the Department of Training Education and Employment offers in their managed operating environment (MOE) and has provided additional and much needed storage space for staff and student files.
With these changes as well as the replacement of the lab computers with Dell desktop workstations, it is exciting to be a part of the technological
growth of our school and I am looking forward to sharing these milestones with Mayfield families in 2013
