Multilit Graduation

This week, we are really pleased to acknowledge another achievement for our Reading Tutor Program. Charlotte G brings our successful graduates from the program to eight.

MultiLit was coined as an acronym for ‘Making Up Lost Time In Literacy’.  The program aims to support students to sharpen their reading through “Word Attack Skills” and “Sight Words”.

This approach is non-categorical. Labels have not been found to be useful in determining how a child can best be helped to learn. RTP reflects a contemporary approach to best practice literacy instruction as identified by international reading scientists and as reflected by the reports of the US National Reading Panel (2000), the (Australian) National Inquiry into the Teaching of Literacy (2005), and the (UK) Rose Report (2006).

Congratulations to Charlotte, and all our graduates, and congratulations to those students who continue with the program and work super-hard every Tutor session.
