NAPLAN
On May 12, 13 and 14, (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of
week 4) Year 3 and 5 students will undertake NAPLAN testing.
One of our parents
has recently expressed concern to me about their child's ability to cope with
these tests due to learning and anxiety issues.
Parents should be aware that
they have the right to withdraw their child from the tests. This is
strictly a parental decision and teachers and administration are unable to
provide you with advice on whether or not to take this step.
However, the
process is a very simple one and involves completing a form which is kept on
site in your child’s records in the office.
If you would like more information
about this process, please call the school this week (Tuesday, Wednesday or
Thursday) to speak with Mrs Jones about this.
Being ready for NAPLAN
As much as possible we need to have all year 3 and 5
students who are sitting for the tests, to be at school, on time, and well
prepared with pencils, erasers etc, ready to go at 8:50am each day.
Please avoid absences or late arrivals if at all possible during this testing
week.
